Americans with Disabilities Committee

The ADA Committee was created in response to the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990. The goal of the Committee is to ensure equal access for all physically challenged individuals. The Committee consists of of 3 individuals, one of which is a person with a disability covered by the ADA. Members shall be appointed by the Mayor with approval of the Common Council, for a one year term of office. The Committee's purpose is to resolve complaints on ADA compliance as provided in Title II of the ADA, serve as an appeal committee in cases where reasonable accommodation has been requested, and the person wishes to appeal the City's accommodation, and advises the Common Council of committee actions and make recommendations for additional compliance activities.
